# Getting Started

To start trading on Byreal Predict, you need USDC on Solana and a Byreal account. The setup takes under five minutes.

## What You Need

* A Solana wallet (Phantom, Backpack, or any Solana-compatible wallet)
* USDC on Solana to fund your positions

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

## Open Byreal Predict

Go to [byreal.io/predict](https://www.byreal.io/en/predict) and connect your Solana wallet.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Create Your Predict Wallet

Byreal Predict uses an embedded wallet powered by [Privy](https://privy.io/). This wallet holds your prediction market funds separately from your main Solana wallet.

When you connect for the first time, Byreal automatically creates this wallet. Your private keys are split across Privy's secure infrastructure. Byreal never has access to them.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Bridge USDC to Your Predict Wallet

Your predict wallet operates on Polygon, where Polymarket markets are settled. To fund it, you bridge USDC from Solana.

1. Click **Deposit** in the top navigation
2. Enter the amount of USDC you want to bridge
3. Confirm the transaction in your Solana wallet
4. Wait approximately 30 seconds for funds to arrive

|                |                                          |
| -------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| **Bridge fee** | Approximately 3.5% of the amount bridged |
| **Time**       | Approximately 30 seconds                 |
| **Minimum**    | $1 USDC                                  |

{% hint style="warning" %}
Bridge fees apply on deposit only. Withdrawing funds back to Solana also incurs a fee. Factor this into your position sizing.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Browse Markets and Start Trading

Once your wallet is funded, go to the **Markets** tab to browse active events.

Select any market to view the orderbook, current prices, and match details. Click **Buy Yes** or **Buy No** to open a position.
